Roskam Troubled by Chicago Tribune Review of Rahm Emanuel Administration Documents

This morning, the Chicago Tribune published an exhaustive review of official city calendars, emails, and police reports related to the tragic shooting death of Laquan McDonald. The Tribune report raises serious questions about Mayor Rahm Emanuel's claims that he was not aware of key details surrounding the case until the video was released to the public.

Congressman Peter Roskam issued the following statement:

"Up until this point I've hesitated to weigh in on the ongoing controversy over the Emanuel Administration's handling of this tragic case and what appears to be a culture of obfuscation. But after today's Tribune report I feel compelled to lend my voice to the growing choir of civic and community leaders concerned about the lack of accountability at City Hall. I hope Mayor Emanuel understands the seriousness of these allegations and extends every courtesy to the Justice Department as it continues its investigation."
